I am Malou, mother of three boys, an expat woman, an interior lover and very passionate about tidying. A certified KonMari® Consultant with an eye for stylish, authentic and above all: wholehearted spaces.
My goal is to inspire you to start tidying and let you experience that it can change your life. The way you think, feel and live your life. The same as it changed mine.
The story about me started in Haarlem, The Netherlands. I was born there and once I started my own family, I moved back. We bought our little dream house and this place was actually the beginning of my love for interior and styling. At that time I got the opportunity to move with my husband and son Pim to Texas, USA.
We took the opportunity… And so the adventure began…
New country, new house, new culture, new life. Unpacking all those boxes, requiring me putting back my whole life into this new house. At that moment I was so overwhelmed by everything. It was the new adventure, but even more by all the stuff that came out and how I had to organize everything. I finally got everything back in a place and styled the spaces as I love to do so. But for some reason it didn’t feel wholehearted to me.
My new rental was so big, I felt that I had to fill it with stuff to complete the space and fit me. However, I still felt emptiness. Was it just living overseas, missing my family that gave me this ‘restless feeling’? Or was it the way I valued myself, how I viewed my life and how to appreciate my new environment.
In January 2020 my second son Eli was born and I read (in my spare moments with a newborn) an interview with a Kon Mari consultant in one of my favorite magazines. I heard all the good stories about “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo and thought: “I really need to give this a try”. I read the books, binge watched all the Netflix episodes, started and it changed my life. I said goodbye to stuff, only kept what spoke to my heart, embraced my own story and created my perfect and wholehearted space.
And here I am now. A certified KonMari® Consultant with an eye for stylish, authentic and above all: wholehearted spaces. As a KonMari® Consultant I will guide you through the process to make your life and spaces authentic and wholehearted. I will support you to select and keep what speaks to your heart, so you can truly live the life you want to live, surrounded by elements you care about most.
